Jamaica Crime News, St Mary: Three men who reportedly challenged the police in a shootout in the parish of St Mary on Sunday, June 24, was shot and killed. Two illegal firearms and several rounds of ammunition taken from them.
The dead gunmen have been identified has Andrew Davis, otherwise called “Bailo”, Rohan Keys, otherwise called “Bankie” and Kemar Robinson all of St Mary addresses.
Reports by the Annotto Bay police are that shortly after 2:45 p.m., a team of officers were carrying out routine patrols along sections of the Annotto Bay main road when they signaled the driver of a motor vehicle to stop.
The driver complied and immediately three men who were travelling on board jumped from the vehicle and opened fire at the police. The police took evasive action and returned the fire, during what time, the three men were shot and injured.
Two illegal firearms, a Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with two live rounds and a .44 magnum pistol also loaded with two live rounds were taken from the injured men. They were later transported to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
A team attached to the Independent Commission of Investigation are now carrying out investigation surrounding this latest fatal shooting.
