ST CATHERINE, JAMAICA — Shock and grief have rocked the community of Beverly Flats, Newland, after a teenage boy was stabbed to death during a dispute with a female teen on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Duxane Elliott, otherwise called “Duxie”, who resided in the area.
Reports are that around 12:30 p.m., Elliott and a 14-year-old girl became involved in a heated argument. During the altercation, a knife was reportedly brought into play and Elliott was stabbed.
He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where doctors fought to save him, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Portmore police have since arrested the teenage girl, who remains in custody as detectives assigned to the Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue their probe.
The tragic incident has left residents stunned, with many describing Elliott as “quiet” and “well-mannered,” while lamenting the rise of violence among the nation’s youth.
