Teen Charged for Breaking into St. Catherine Primary School

ST. CATHERINE, JAMAICA — An 18-year-old bus conductor has been charged with housebreaking and larceny as well as malicious destruction of property following a break-in at a primary school in Central Village, St. Catherine.

The accused, Prince Brown of Windsor Heights, Central Village, allegedly broke into the school on Sunday, February 23.

According to reports from the Central Village police, around 3:00 p.m., Brown allegedly forced open the doors to the tuck shop, staff room, classrooms, and administrative office. He is accused of stealing juice and snacks of an undetermined value before escaping. During the break-in, a cash register was damaged.

Following a police investigation, Brown was arrested during an intelligence-led operation. He was formally charged after giving a caution statement and undergoing a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is currently being finalized.
