ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica—The St Elizabeth police have uncovered what they believe to be a car-stealing ring after the discovery of vehicle parts hidden in bushes in the New Building area.
The breakthrough came on Wednesday morning when police, acting on intelligence, tracked a stolen Toyota Mark X to a secluded spot in the district. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Coker district.
According to the police, around 6:30 a.m., officers launched an operation in New Building and located the stolen car concealed in the bushes. Alongside the vehicle, authorities uncovered a stash of suspicious items, including several vehicle keys, licence plates, road licences, and assorted car parts from different vehicles.
Police are now theorizing that the area is being used as a site to disassemble and store stolen vehicles, suggesting a larger, organized car-theft operation.
Although no arrests have been made in connection with the discovery, investigations are ongoing as the police continue to follow leads in the case.
