A prominent businessman residing in Montego Bay, St James, is now in critical condition at the Cornwall Regional Hospital following an incident where he was shot and seriously injured by gunmen at his home in the Green Pond community on Saturday night.
Reports indicate that around 11:00 PM, the businessman, who operates a supermarket at Farm Bridge, closed up business for the day and drove home to Capital Heights in Green Pond with his girlfriend.
Upon reaching the yard, the supermarket operator alighted from the vehicle and was in the process of entering his house when two armed men ambushed them and opened fire, hitting him multiple times.
‘Rubba’ and the female fled while the gunmen made their escape.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, the businessman, discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was rushed to the hospital where he was treated and admitted in serious condition.
