St Thomas police have made a major drug bust following the seizure of cocaine estimated to be worth more than $400 million during an operation in the parish on Tuesday night.
According to investigators, lawmen acted on intelligence that led them to premises in the Llandewey area, where a large quantity of the illegal substance was reportedly being stored.
During the operation, officers discovered 23 knitted bags containing cocaine weighing in excess of 1,600 pounds.
Two Jamaican men were taken into custody in relation to the seizure. However, police have withheld their identities as investigations continue into the matter.
