St James Mechanic Facing Cocaine Charges, Bail Extended

Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: 52-year-old Lascells McKenzie, mechanic of Hurlock district and Salt Spring in St James, had his bail extended when he appeared in the St James Parish Court for Cocaine charges on Thursday, December 6.

McKenzie who is facing charges of, Possession of and Dealing in Cocaine, is represented by Attorney-At-Law Trevor Holyn.

He was ordered to return to court on January 25, 2019.

Reports are that in late 2013, a team of officers attached to the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay, went to a section of the Hurlock community, to execute a warrant at a premises.

While on their way to the premises, they saw a man running from another house in the area.

The lawmen decided to carry out a search of that particular house,  which led to the seizure of 41 small parcels of crack cocaine.

The lawmen stated that they stumbled upon 37 unwrapped small parcels and 4 wrapped parcels.

Also, they seized cling wrap paper, duct tape, and stencil knife.

McKenzie and two other persons who were at the house were taken into custody. Following an investigation, McKenzie who occupied the house was charged, while the other two suspects were released.
