Jamaica Crime News: 19-year-old, Rhyeem Reid, who is one of five persons facing the Western Regional Gun Court for Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, was granted bail in the sum of $ 250,000, when he appeared in Court on Thursday, December 6.
Reid’s four other co-accused, 32-year-old Deandrea Ducharni of Catherine Hall, 24-year-old Tevin Green, who also hails from Catherine Hall, 32-year-old Kevin Green of Roehampton and another man who name is being withheld, were all remanded into custody until Thursday, December 20.
Reports are that about 2:15 p.m. on November 26, a team of officers were on patrol duties in the Anchovy area when they saw all five accused traveling in a Mazda station wagon motor car.
The police signaled the driver to stop and he complied.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a Glock pistol, fitted with a magazine containing 19 live rounds of ammunition.
All five occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.
The 19-year-old, who was granted bail is represented by Attorney-at-Law Michael Hemmings.
