Westmoreland Man Murdered in St James, Girlfriend’s Ex-lover Arrested as Prime Suspect

Jamaica Crime News, St James: The St James police have confirmed that a 27-year-old man, who hails from Fern in Cambridge, St James,  has been taken into custody as a prime suspect in the murder of a 41-year-old Westmoreland man, who was shot and killed in Glendevon, St James, and his 40-year-old girlfriend shot and injured on Friday night, December 7.

The deceased man has been identified as Nigel Williams, laborer of a Westmoreland address, while the identity of the female is being withheld.

One police source also told our news team that, unconfirmed reports are that the suspect is the ex-boyfriend of the female who was shot and injured.

Reports by the Freeport Police are that about8:10 p.m. on Friday,  Williams and the female friend were sitting in his motor car outside a premises in Glendevon.

While at the location, Williams and the female were ambushed by a lone gunman, who shot them multiple times to their upper bodies. The gunman made his escape in the area on foot.

Residents in the community summoned the police and upon their arrival, both victims were transported to hospital, where Williams was pronounced dead and the female admitted in serious condition.

An investigation was carried out, which led to the arrest of the ex-boyfriend in Cambridge.
