A 39-year-old man from Caribbean Estate in St Catherine, Glenford Smith, has been arrested and charged after allegedly attempting to bribe a police officer following a traffic violation.
According to reports, a team of officers conducting a traffic operation observed Smith driving a Nissan AD Wagon without wearing his seatbelt and allegedly obstructing traffic.
Upon stopping Smith and informing him of the violations, he purportedly offered a bribe of $5000 to one of the officers.
Smith was promptly taken into police custody and later charged for the offense.
