St Andrew, Jamaica — Donovan Brown, a 45-year-old man from St Andrew, also known as ‘Ping’ and ‘Boom,’ has been charged by the police with rape, grievous sexual assault, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Brown’s charges follow a harrowing incident in 2022 involving a young girl who was working for him at his spray and delivery business. According to police reports, Brown allegedly requested sexual favors from the girl. When she refused, he left the premises and returned with a firearm. He then reportedly pointed the gun at the girl and sexually assaulted her.
The Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) took charge of the investigation. After the young girl reported the incident, Brown was apprehended by the authorities. Following a question and answer session and identification parade, Brown was formally charged.
His court date is currently being arranged, and the community is closely watching as the case progresses through the legal system.
