ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A medical doctor from Spanish Town, St Catherine, has been charged with rape, forcible abduction, and grievous sexual assault following allegations of an assault on a woman at his home. The accused, 33-year-old Nigeria Solomon, also known as “Isaiah,” is now in custody as his court date is being finalized.
The alleged incident occurred on Wednesday, August 28. According to reports from the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA), the woman initially visited Solomon’s office for a consultation. Following the appointment, she received a text message inviting her to a birthday celebration. The woman accepted and attended the gathering.
Police reports indicate that during the outing, Solomon took the woman to several locations. Around 12:45 a.m., she reportedly asked to be taken home. However, the doctor allegedly drove her to his residence, where he is accused of forcing her into non-consensual sexual intercourse.
Following the incident, the woman filed a report with the police, who subsequently launched an investigation. Solomon was located, questioned, and formally charged.
