The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) has launched a full investigation into the recent death of former People’s National Party Councillor Rohan “Washy” Bryan. Mr. Bryan reportedly died from negligence at the Princess Margaret Hospital in St. Thomas on May 1.
The investigation follows a heated protest staged outside the hospital entrance on Monday morning.
Reports indicate that Mr. Bryan, who served as the People’s National Party Councillor for the Morant Bay Division in the St. Thomas Municipal Corporation, was admitted to the hospital for treatment of a heart condition. He later died, with some alleging negligence on the part of doctors and staff members.
Following the protest, SERHA announced that its board of directors has met with Mr. Bryan’s family. The board assured them that a full investigation will be launched and that they will be informed of all findings.
