Kingston, Jamaica — Police in Kingston East are investigating the fatal shooting of a man along Greenvale Road on Monday afternoon. The victim, identified as 57-year-old Richard Brooks, also known as “ET,” was a sound system operator from Bull Bay, St. Andrew.
According to initial police reports, Brooks was on Greenvale Road around 12:25 p.m., near the popular local spot known as the Star of the East Chill Spot, when he was attacked by an unknown assailant. Residents in the area heard gunshots and contacted authorities.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Brooks with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators have yet to determine a motive for the killing and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to assist with the probe. The Kingston East Police are asking witnesses or anyone with relevant details to reach out to them or call the police emergency line.
