St Andrew, Jamaica: A fatal shooting incident on Mannings Hill Road in St Andrew late Friday night, left one man dead and another hospitalized.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Orlando McDermott of Glen Drive in the parish.
According to police reports, the incident took place around 10:10 p.m. when McDermott and another man were walking along the roadway. They were suddenly ambushed by armed men who opened fire, striking both men multiple times.
Emergency services were summoned to the scene. Upon arrival, police found both men suffering from several gunshot wounds. McDermott succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other victim was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
The police have launched an investigation into the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in apprehending the perpetrators.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear at this time.
