St Catherine, Jamaica: A police constable and another man were shot by a gunman while walking home from a wake in the Bog Walk community on Saturday morning.
Both victims are currently hospitalized.
According to reports, around 3:30 a.m., the constable and the other man left the event and headed home. As they reached Pineapple Lane, they were ambushed by an armed assailant who opened fire.
The gunman reportedly fired multiple shots, hitting the police constable in the abdomen and the other man in the legs.
Both victims were rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where they have been admitted for treatment. Their current conditions are stable.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and the Bog Walk Criminal Investigation Branch has launched a thorough probe into the incident. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward.
