KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Meteorological Service has issued a Severe Weather Alert for Jamaica, effective until 5 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025, as a strong tropical wave moves westward across the Caribbean and shows signs of further development.
Residents are being urged to prepare for heavy rainfall, strong winds, and rough seas starting Wednesday afternoon and continuing into the weekend. Authorities have warned that there is a possibility of a Tropical Storm Watch being issued as the system progresses.
The Meteorological Service advises the public to monitor local media and official channels for updates, and to take precautions to safeguard lives and property.
