KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising members of the public that driver’s licence transactions will not be processed on Tuesday, October 21, due to delays arising from scheduled maintenance of its driver’s licence system.
In a release issued Monday, the TAJ explained that the maintenance activity, which had been expected to be completed, tested, and implemented today, encountered unexpected technical issues that have delayed its completion.
As a result, all tax offices islandwide will be unable to process both new driver’s licences and renewals until the issue is resolved.
The TAJ noted, however, that all other services remain available, including the payment of taxes and other motor vehicle-related transactions.
A dedicated technical team is currently working to restore the system and ensure full service resumes as soon as possible.
