He has been identified as 27-year-old O’ Brian Cruickshank, Captain of the Seaforth Football Club.
Reports are that, about 12:30 on Friday morning armed men kicked in the door to Cruickshank’s home and shot him seven times before fleeing the scene.
He was rushed to hospital and died while undergoing treatment.
