ST ANDREW, Jamaica – A well-known real estate developer is in serious condition after being ambushed and beaten by unidentified men posing as police officers in the Barbican area on Tuesday night.
According to police reports, the developer—who has been behind several high-end housing projects in St Andrew—was driving when he was intercepted by men dressed in police uniforms. The assailants then proceeded to attack him, stealing his licensed firearm and an undisclosed sum of cash.
Following the assault, the businessman was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The Constant Spring Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) has launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
