Authorities in South Carolina have confirmed the arrest of rapper Desiigner in connection with a reported domestic incident earlier this month.
The Horry County Sheriff’s Office stated that the artist, whose legal name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was taken into custody on Monday. Records indicate he was later released after posting a $1,500 bond. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
According to law enforcement documents, the alleged incident occurred on March 2 at a residence shared with the mother of his child. The complainant reported that Selby arrived home in an agitated state, shouting and throwing objects before the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.
The woman told officers she attempted to leave the premises to retrieve luggage left at an airport, but claimed Selby forcibly took her keys, damaging her clothing in the process. She further alleged that he placed their child into a car seat and pushed her to the ground when she intervened. Police noted that she sustained minor injuries, including scratches to her arm and lower back. The child was reportedly not present during the alleged physical altercation.
The complainant also indicated that footage of the incident may exist but said she was unable to access the recording system at the time.
Deputies reported that Selby had left the scene before officers arrived on March 2. He was subsequently arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence.
This incident follows a previous legal matter involving the rapper in 2023, when he faced an indecent exposure charge related to an occurrence on an international flight.
Efforts to obtain a statement from Selby’s representatives regarding the latest allegations have not yet received a response.
