A woman from Clarendon facing multiple charges linked to a major drug seizure earlier this year has been granted bail in the sum of $800,000.
The accused, Elsiea O’Connor, appeared before the court on Tuesday where bail was approved with several conditions attached. She is required to report regularly to the May Pen Police, surrender all travel documents, and return to court on April 28 for further mention of the case.
O’Connor is charged under the Dangerous Drugs Act, along with possession of criminal property and breaches of customs regulations.
The court heard that her attorney, Donahue Martin, successfully argued the bail application on her behalf.
Reports indicate that law enforcement carried out an operation in the Palmetto Pen area about 2:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026. During the exercise, officers reportedly uncovered a significant quantity of contraband, including approximately 162 pounds of ganja, bulk quantities of rum, uncustomed cigarettes, and cash estimated at $5 million.
Following the operation, O’Connor was taken into custody. After further inquiries and a formal question-and-answer session, she was subsequently charged in connection with the seizure.
