Portmore Teen Charged with Murder Following Beverly Flat Stabbing

Portmore, St Catherine – Police in Portmore, St Catherine have charged a 14-year-old girl with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in the Beverly Flat community of Newland.

The deceased has been identified as Duscane Elliot. A court date for the teen accused is currently being arranged.

According to police reports, around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 5, the teen girl went to Elliot’s home and allegedly attempted to set his clothes on fire. An argument reportedly ensued, during which the girl used half of a pair of scissors to stab Elliot in the chest.

Elliot was immediately taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The 14-year-old was later arrested and gave a caution statement, admitting to the crime, police said.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
