St Catherine, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Portmore Ganja Seizure: On Thursday, November 16, 2017, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a team from the Narcotics Police were on duty in Gregory Park, St Catherine, when they signaled the driver of a Toyota Noah minivan, which was travelling along the Grange Lane to stop. Instead of stopping, the driver sped away.
The vehicle was pursued by the police and was eventually intercepted when the driver drove onto the premises of a business establishment in the area and stopped the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was done and 169 parcels of compressed ganja, weighing 1,000 lbs were found. The premises were also searched and an additional 200 parcels of compressed ganja weighing 1,220 pounds were also found.
Three men were taken into custody in relation to the seizure, while the Toyota Noah minivan was seized.

The men are to be questioned in the presence of their attorneys before charges are laid against them, however, arrangements are currently being made to facilitate this meeting.

The estimated street value of the seized drug was $11.1 million.
