A woman lost her life after a single-vehicle crash along the Fair Prospect main road in eastern Portland early Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Janea Berry, a resident of Boston in the parish.
According to police reports, the incident occurred about 1:00 a.m. Berry was driving a red 2019 Suzuki Baleno motor car towards Long Bay when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.
She was taken to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Portland Traffic Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
