Portland Bus Operator Perishes in House Fire

Portland, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Tragedy struck in Portland early this morning after a well-known bus operator lost his life in a raging house fire at Drapers Heights.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Stevie “Ricky” Duncan, a resident of Drapers Heights, who was said to be well-known in the community for his work as a bus operator.

Reports are that about 12:21 a.m., the Port Antonio Fire Department received a distress call that a dwelling house was ablaze in the area.

On arrival, firefighters were met with towering flames consuming the house. Despite their efforts, the structure was gutted. During cooling down operations, Duncan’s charred remains were discovered in the debris.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but investigations are ongoing.
