St Catherine, Jamaica: Police Shot and Injured – A police officer who intervened in an attempted murder of a taxi operator in Portmore, St Catherine, on Saturday, is currently hospitalized, recovering from gunshot injuries.

Reports indicate that around 11:30 am, the police corporal was conducting business along West Henderson Boulevard in Greater Portmore when two armed men exited a Nissan motor car and opened fire at a taxi operator.

The police officer confronted the gunmen, who then fired at him before fleeing in the waiting motor car.

Later, it was discovered that the officer had been shot. He was promptly taken to the hospital, where he received treatment and was admitted in serious but stable condition..
