ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A police operation in Portmore on Sunday night led to the seizure of a significant quantity of ammunition and the detention of a suspect.
Law enforcement officers assigned to the St Catherine South Police Division carried out the targeted operation at a business place along Dyke Road at approximately 9:00 p.m., following intelligence received.
During a search of the premises, the team reportedly uncovered 151 rounds of .38 ammunition. The cartridges were found hidden inside a plastic bag that had been placed beneath a bucket.
One man was taken into custody in relation to the discovery. However, authorities have not released his identity as investigations continue.
The police have indicated that inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
