Ocho Rios, St Ann — The St Ann police have launched an investigation into what is being treated as a suspected drowning following the discovery of an unresponsive woman in the waters of Mahogany Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
Reports indicate that shortly after 4:00 p.m., beachgoers spotted the woman floating unresponsive in the water. She was described as wearing a black floral long-sleeved shirt, a matching black floral swimsuit, leggings, and water shoes.
A concerned citizen transported the woman to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The woman’s identity remains unknown at this time, and police are appealing to members of the public who may be able to assist in identifying her or providing information related to the incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident as they await post-mortem results to determine the exact cause of death.
