St. Catherine, Jamaica — Law enforcement authorities have placed the Shelter Rock community in Spanish Town under curfew following a recent fatal shooting in the area.
Reports indicate that the curfew began at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and is scheduled to remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The measure was implemented by the police as part of ongoing security operations and investigative efforts.
The restricted zone covers sections of Shelter Rock and nearby roadways, with boundaries outlined by the police to include key access points and surrounding areas. Residents living within the designated perimeter are required to remain indoors during curfew hours unless they receive official authorization from the commanding officer on duty.
The action follows the shooting death of a woman in the community during the early morning hours, which is currently under active investigation by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch.
Police say the curfew is intended to support investigative work and maintain public safety while operations continue. Residents are being urged to cooperate fully with security personnel during the enforcement period.
