The Trelawny police have identified the man who died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision along a section of Cooper’s Pen main road in Trelawny on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Dennis Purrier of Bounty Hall district in Trelawny.
Reports indicate that around 11:20 p.m., Purrier was driving his white Toyota Corolla along Cooper’s Pen main road towards Duncan when he lost control of the vehicle. He collided with a black Subaru motor car traveling in the opposite direction, driven by a 52-year-old mason.
Purrier and four occupants of the Subaru motor car sustained injuries. Purrier had to be extricated from the wreckage by firefighters and was rushed to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The other victims traveling in the Subaru motor car, including a seven-year-old boy, were treated at Falmouth Hospital.
The Falmouth police are investigating this latest accident.
