Manchester, Jamaica: Police Constable Killed – A police constable who was on interdiction with the Jamaica Constabulary Force was shot and killed in Comfort district, Manchester, on Tuesday night.
The deceased, Constable Mario Thomas, was discovered fatally shot at Breezy Hill in Comfort district on Wednesday morning.
Reports indicate that around 10:30 p.m., Thomas was last seen at a shop in the community.
Residents recounted that while Thomas was inside the establishment, a man wearing a hoodie entered, prompting Thomas to become suspicious and flee.
Allegedly, the man pursued Thomas with a handgun, firing multiple rounds at him, marking the last sighting of Thomas alive.
Residents later found Thomas’s body with gunshot wounds and alerted the police. The scene was processed, and the body was removed to the morgue for a post-mortem examination.
It has been disclosed that several attempts had been made on the police officer’s life in recent months, exacerbated after his firearm license was revoked.
Additionally, Thomas had been implicated in a robbery at a supermarket in Porus, Manchester, where two individuals were fatally shot.
