Jamaica News, February 8, 2018
St Andrew, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Omar Collymore, otherwise called Omar Best Collymore or Omar Best, the newly listed Jamaican Wanted Man, up to press time on Wednesday has still not heeded to the police call for him to surrender immediately to them. Collymore is allegedly wanted on an alleged warrant for his arrest in the murder of his wife Simone Collymore and a taxi driver on January 2, 2018.
Police made a nationwide announcement on Tuesday, February 6 for Collymore to turn over himself to police custody Immediately.
He has still not done so, now over 24-hours after he was told to report.
Police sources say Omar Collymore is expected to be charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. He allegedly is accused of being the mastermind behind his wife, Simone Campbell-Collymore’s murder, who was killed along with taxi driver on January 2.
According to police, two men are now arrested for the murder of both Mrs Campbell-Collymore and taxi operator Winston Walters, who were together gunned down in a hail of bullets as four allegedly hired gunmen riding motorbikes ambushed the motorcar.
Sources say that the police now have a statement from the arrested, alleging Collymore paid JMD $500,000 in contract to have his wife murdered.
Collymore’s Attorney, Christopher Townsend, has denied the allegations on his client’s behalf.
Just days before the funeral of his wife Omar Collymore is accused of taking steps to collect a substantial life insurance from his wife’s death. He was later reportedly caught trying to flee Jamaica just days before his wife’s (who he has two young children with) funeral.
His Attorney, Christopher Townsend, states that his client is sick from being shot (we were told he was allegedly only grazed with a bullet), and is vomiting blood – too sick to go to the police station. Townsend said that the police told Collymore that he was just wanted for questioning, not as the main suspect.
Nabbed at Airport
Omar Best Collymore, is a citizen of Barbados by birth, Jamaica by Marriage and the United States. Two days before the funeral of Mrs Simone Campbell-Collymore, he was nabbed at the ‘Kingston Airport,’ Norman Manley International Airport.
Allegedly Omar Collymore was arrested as he tried to leave the island on a fake passport.
