PNP Supporters Protest over Naming of Edward Seaga Highway

Jamaica News: Hoards of angry and disgruntled People’s National Party heads and supporters came out in their numbers and protested over the decision made by the ruling Jamaica Labor Party to name a section of the North-South Coast Highway in honor of former Jamaica Labor Party Prime Minister, Edward Seaga .

The demonstration was led by PNP Party Chairman Fitz Jackson, who told reporters that it was unjust for the JLP to name this section of the Highway in honour of Mr.Seaga who had opposed its construction from the very beginning.

The angry crowd of supporters armed themselves with placards and came out in their numbers at the Caymanas Entrance to the North-South Coast Highway and voiced their concerns.  A number of the placards had the markings (HIGHWAY ROBBERS).

Recently the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Hon Andrew Holness and members of the Jamaica Labour Party decided that they were going to pay their respect to the former Prime Minister and JLP President Edward Seaga by naming a section of the newly constructed North-South Coast Highway in his honor.

This did not go down well with members of the Jamaica Labour Party and other party supporters.
