Five Persons Murdered in St James in the Past Seven Days
Jamaica Crime News, St.James: Despite a low count in murders in the parish of St James since the start of the year, a total of five persons have been brutally murdered across the parish over the past seven days.
These murders have been recorded in various policing areas such as Barrett Town, Adelphi, Barnett Street and Granville. One police source told our news team that, despite the parish have recorded six murders in quick succession; murders on a whole are way down across St James.
So far a total of 47 persons have been reported murdered across St James, and at this same time in June 12th, 2017, the parish of St James had already recorded 127 murders.
This is a great reduction of 40 lives less which were taken since the start of the year. The year 2017 ended with 337 murders, and this was the largest number of persons ever, to be murdered within a year in the parish.
In the meanwhile the joint military forces continue to press on within the troubled communities while enforcing the law and placing criminals behind bars. Also, the State of Public Emergency still takes effect in the Montego Bay Region.
