Bus Driver Involved in Spanish Town Road Crash Still at Hospital in Serious Condition

Jamaica News: The driver of a Toyota mini bus, who was involved in a two way motor vehicle accident which occurred along a section of the Spanish Town Road in St Andrew on Friday night of June 8th, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

The police reported that about 10:30 pm, on Friday, the victim whose name has not been released was driving a Toyota Hiace mini bus along the Spanish Town road towards downtown Kingston.

After passing the Portia Simpson Miller Square and reaching a section of the roadway in the vicinity of the Payne Land community he collided into a Toyota Coaster Bus which was travelling in the opposite direction destined for Montego Bay.

A total of six persons received injuries in the accident while the driver of the mini bus got trapped in the wreckage.  It took community members and the police close to an hour to cut him free from the wreckage.

The Injured driver and the other victims were all rushed to hospital where he was admitted in critical condition and the other victims treated and later released.
