KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A pregnant woman in Florida was brutally attacked and stabbed 14 times by a pizza delivery driver after allegedly giving a $2 tip, authorities say.
The incident occurred on December 22nd at the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee.
Melinda Irizarry, the victim, placed an order from Marcos Pizza Shop and received her food from 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo.
According to an arrest affidavit, Irizarry tipped Alvelo $2, which reportedly angered the driver. Alvelo allegedly returned to the motel room with another suspect, armed with a firearm, and forced their way inside. Alvelo then proceeded to stab Irizarry multiple times, including in the chest, arms, legs, and abdomen.
Irizarry suffered a collapsed lung and underwent emergency surgery. She is currently in stable condition.
Alvelo has been arrested on charges of home invasion with a firearm, attempted murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. The second suspect remains at large.
