Jamaican Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Cayman

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
– A single-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road early this morning tragically claimed the life of a driver and left three passengers hospitalized.

The incident occurred near Midway Close, involving a Subaru sedan traveling eastbound. The vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene. Three passengers were transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance, while a fourth occupant was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

The driver, a Jamaican national employed at Owen Roberts International Airport, succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a backseat passenger may have cautioned the driver to slow down shortly before the crash. However, the exact sequence of events leading to the collision remains under investigation.
