St Mary, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — A night out at a popular bar in Galina, St Mary turned deadly after gunfire erupted, leaving one man dead and two others nursing gunshot wounds in hospital.
The brazen attack occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, sending shockwaves through the normally quiet community.
Reports are that three patrons were inside the bar when a lone gunman entered, pretended to be a customer, made a purchase — then suddenly pulled a gun and opened fire, hitting all three men.
The dead man has been identified as 49-year-old Rudolph “Patty Crumbs” Beckford, a well-known truck driver from the area. Beckford was reportedly found unresponsive at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at the Port Maria Hospital.
The other two victims were rushed to the same facility by residents. One is said to be in serious condition, while the other remains stable.
The St Mary Police Division has since launched a high-level investigation into the incident and is appealing to members of the public for information.
