Portmore, St Catherine – The St Catherine South police are searching for those responsible for the fatal shooting of a well-known pastor inside his home in Portmore on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as 77-year-old Clinton Smith, a bishop and Justice of the Peace, who resided on Mitchell Close in Portmore Gardens.
According to police reports, around 7:30 p.m., residents heard explosions coming from Smith’s home. Upon investigation, he was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
The police were summoned, and Smith was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At this time, investigators have not established a motive for the killing. The Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the probe into the incident.
