Olympic Champion Sha’Carri Richardson Arrested on Speeding Charge in Florida

FLORIDA, United States — US sprint star and Olympic gold medallist Sha’Carri Richardson was taken into custody in Orange County on Thursday following allegations of excessive speeding, according to reports from American media outlets.

ABC News reported that the athlete was arrested in connection with what authorities classified as dangerous high-speed driving. The report noted that the alleged speed exceeded 100 miles per hour, placing the incident in the category of criminal speeding under local regulations.

Richardson is currently being held at the Orange County Jail, where bail has been set at US$500, based on the same media report.

The sprinter previously faced legal trouble in 2025 after an incident involving her partner, Christian Coleman, at an airport in Seattle that led to her arrest. No additional details about the latest charge were immediately released.
