Alana Reid, the Under-20 World 100-metre champion and Olympic sprinter, has signed a one-year partnership with fast-food giant Burger King to become their newest brand ambassador. The deal, which has the potential for extension until 2028, was announced on Reid’s social media platforms, where she shared her excitement with fans.
“Hey everyone! I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ve officially become a brand ambassador for Burger King! This is such a dream come true for me, and I can’t wait to dive into this delicious journey with all of you,” Reid posted on Instagram. She also teased exclusive deals, favorite menu items, and behind-the-scenes content.
The 19-year-old athlete made her first official appearance in her new role on Tuesday at the launch of the 2024 Burger King 5K and Relay at Jamaica College. Reid will actively participate in the event, scheduled for Sunday, November 10, where she plans to engage with runners and fitness enthusiasts in various exercises and activities.
Reid expressed hope that her achievement as a brand ambassador will inspire other young athletes. Her growing list of accolades already includes representing Jamaica at the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of the 4×100-metre relay team and winning gold in both the 100-metre and 4×100-metre relays at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
Reid’s collaboration with Burger King adds another layer to her burgeoning career as both a global sports figure and an emerging role model for youth in Jamaica.
