Police in St Ann are investigating a fatal traffic incident along Milford Road in Ocho Rios that claimed the life of a 70-year-old Norwegian national on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Torill Oyen-Jarrett, a resident of Prostables Vie, Skedsmokorset, Norway. Reports indicate that she succumbed to injuries sustained after being struck by a motor vehicle.
According to preliminary information, the collision involved a 1989 blue Toyota Corolla driven by a 24-year-old farmer from Walkerswood, St Ann. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being examined.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s tourism liaison officer was notified of the incident, and investigators attached to the Ocho Rios Traffic Department have launched a probe into the matter.
