Police in Kingston have charged a 22-year-old bus conductor following an incident in which another man was allegedly injured during a violent altercation on Orange Street.
The accused, Brandon Rickets of Kingston 5, is facing a charge of wounding with intent arising from an incident reported to have occurred on January 20 in downtown Kingston.
According to reports from the Central Police Division, an argument between Rickets and another man escalated into a physical confrontation at about 3:10 p.m. During the dispute, Rickets is alleged to have used a screwdriver to stab the man.
The injured man was taken to hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
Rickets was apprehended shortly after the incident and later identified during an identification parade. He was subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of investigators.
A court date is now being finalised as investigations conclude.
