The North Coast Highway will undergo a significant expansion to a four-lane road to tackle persistent traffic congestion in the Drax Hall area of St Ann.
Commuters have long complained that delays in the area hinder development and create costly inconveniences.
Announcing the project, Prime Minister Andrew Holness stated that funds secured from the International Finance Corporation will finance the works. Additionally, the north-south leg of the highway will also be extended, further improving traffic flow across the country.
Holness made the announcement at the Draxhall Courts Jamaica store opening.
