Nicki Minaj has scored a legal victory after a former fan agreed to drop a $10 million lawsuit accusing the rapper of defamation and emotional distress.
According to court documents, Tameer Peak decided not to continue pursuing the case, which alleged that Nicki made false and damaging comments about him online, including reportedly referring to him as a “stalker” and saying he was “one sandwich short of a picnic.”
The lawsuit had been ongoing for more than a year and faced delays after Nicki’s original attorney withdrew from the case. In recent filings, Nicki’s legal team argued that the claims were filed too late and lacked merit, stating that Peak could not reasonably prove the comments were specifically directed at him.
In a letter submitted to the court, Peak said he would not oppose Nicki’s request to have the case dismissed. He explained that his main goal in filing the lawsuit was to challenge what he believed was improper conduct and to have his concerns heard through the legal system.
Peak added that he feels he has achieved that objective and no longer wishes to move forward with the case.
The dismissal marks the end of a legal battle that attracted attention from both Nicki Minaj fans and critics, with neither side admitting wrongdoing as the matter comes to a close. 🎤⚖️
