Murdered Cellphone Technician Identified and Security Beefed up at May Pen Town Centre

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: Detectives attached to the May Pen police station say they have now made a breakthrough into the identity of a cell phone technician who was shot and killed by a lone gunman at his shop in the May Pen bus Park on Monday afternoon of June 25th.

He has been identified as Devon Palmer, otherwise called “Brown Man” 23-year-old cellphone technician who hails from North Street in May Pen.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 3:00 pm, Palmer was inside his cellphone shop which he operates in the bus Park. A man posing as a customer walked inside the shop and brandishes a handgun and shot Palmer multiple times to his upper body.

The gunman made his escape in the area on foot.  The police were summoned and upon arrival, Palmer was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police have also reported that eight persons have been shot in that surrounding over the past week, two of whom have been fatal.  The May Pen police have now beefed up security in and around the shopping area in the May Pen Town Centre.
