Motorcyclist Killed After Using Cellphone Light to Ride Bike

St James, Jamaica News: Motorcyclist Killed – A motorcyclist who residents say was using his cellphone light to ride his motorcycle along Lagoon Boulevard at the Estuary Housing Scheme in St. James was killed on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old “Richardo” of Hurlock district in St. James.

Reports indicate that around 1:00 am, “Richardo” was riding a Jamco motorcycle from the direction of Estuary Housing Scheme towards Hurlock.

It is also reported that the motorcycle “Richardo” was riding did not have any headlights, so he used his cellphone light as a substitute.

Upon reaching a section of the roadway, he lost control of the bike, collided with a metal signpost, and sustained head and body injuries.

He was transported to Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he later died.
