St Ann, Jamaica News – The teenage boy who allegedly shot and injured a fellow student at Ocho Rios High School in St Ann is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday, June 24.
Due to his age, the boy’s identity is being withheld. He faces charges of wounding with intent and use of a prohibited weapon.
Superintendent Dwight Powell, head of the St Ann Police, reported that the boy was initially brought to court on Thursday. He also mentioned that the girl who was injured in the incident is recovering well.
The police are working closely with the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) to provide support for the girl. According to the police, on Monday, June 17, the boy was allegedly showing off a gun to his schoolmates when it accidentally discharged, hitting the girl in the thigh.
