The Sandy Bay police in the parish of Hanover have arrested and charged a popular mason who was found with an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition at his home in the volatile community of Montpellier on Friday.
The accused man, 41-year-old Kingsley James, has since been arrested and charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
Reports indicate that around 4:00 a.m., a team of officers conducted a targeted raid at a premises occupied by James.
During a search of a bedroom, the officers found thirty-five 9mm rounds of ammunition and one .45 round in a dresser drawer.
A further search outside the house led to the seizure of a chrome .45 pistol, which was discovered in a water drum.
James was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
